FAQ
-
Do you take insurance?
Direct Connect Primary Care does not bill insurance. We can provide a superbill but because you pay for a membership and not for the services, you may not be reimbursed by your insurance.
-
Why do you not see patients with medicare?
Charlotte is opted in to Medicare to be able to work while building this practice. Laws and regulations prohibit providers that are opted in to Medicare from receiving payments from patients for services covered by Medicare. Because Direct Connect Primary Care doesn’t bill any insurances and can not accept cash from Medicare patients, Charlotte can not see patients with Medicare.
-
Do I still need insurance?
Direct Connect Primary Care offers the services of a board certified nurse practitioner, some minor procedures, and some testing for a monthly membership fee. More advanced testing, lab procedures, referrals to specialists, and emergencies are not included in these fees. Though we offer discounted labs and can identify where cheaper imaging procedures can be done, care can still be costly. Medical emergencies, as well, can cause you to incur large fees. Therefor, if you have access to health insurance, I recommend you have it.
-
Why would I pay for direct primary care if I already pay for insurance?
Simply put, direct primary care give you a hassle free experience with care readily available when and where you need it without the long wait times. As well, you will have a direct line of communication to your provider at any time. If you can think of a way that your primary care experience can be improved, you will likely find that with direct primary care.
